E.Goldsmidt sounds German to me, the name stands in a little silverpiece. It was made in Germany. Dated : Köln 1925, and marked with crown /crescent moon and 800 (third alloy)and folowed by the letters; V/TB(?) and the name of the gold?/silversmith.
I've looked at internet found an american silversmith also named like Goldsmidt and I wonder if this silversmith has emigrated to the U.S.A. in which period/where he started his new life and work in America. I hope that someone recognize the name and also can give some information.
Thank you very much!

Greetings Silverhunter.

I've spelled the wrong name in the first part of my question, the right name is
E. Goldschmidt. Untill know I've found some other silver items made by him at internet. For instance a coffeeset and other items.
I also found the name of Emil Goldschmidt(not knowing if he was the same person?).
Emil Goldschmidt was born at 29.03.1887 and died in Riga (in the second world war).

Thank you silver point, nice done, but I'm sorry I can't find the name like it should be. Perhaps the grammatic letter type is hardly to indentify and my eyes need a pair of reading glasses. Even with using that, I can't find the name. Sorry, but can you tell me if the phone book is from Köln, if so, it could be the right person if there are not mentioned more persons named E. Goldschmidt in the telephone book.
I've tried to copy your post and resize it bigger but that even made the lettertype more difficult for to read. Thank you for your reaction and spending time for research. Andre(as) Silber Jäger.

Thank you Scott Martin for your helpfull idea, I've tried it, but didn't succeed with the translation, the name Goldschmidt is to recognize, but the right one is difficult to find at this side. Perhaps later I can find his name in a german silverbook. His name was mentioned/stamped into the silverpiece I have, without using a silvermaster mark.
At the sended list of silverpunze standing a few jewelers with the familyname so it also can be a combination jeweler/silvermaster?
But I'm sure helped with it. Thanks to you all.

hallo Silverhunter,
thank you for the compliment. Not all images have been made by me - but I have many helpers for my "Wikipedia" of old German hallmarks.

addressbook from Köln 1930 (Cologne):
--------------------------------------------
Goldschmidt...
...
-E. Juwelier, Domkloster 1, u. Fettenhenne 4
...
--------------------------------------------

Juwelier = jeweler

Domkloster 1 and Fettenhenne 4 are the addresses of E.Goldschmidt

Hello Silberpunze,
Thank you very much for the good information you gave. I will try to look at internet to find the adress in Köln. The silver piece I have is dated 1925 so that also correspondent with your information.
Nice to know were this silversmith worked and that he was also "juwelier".(also written in dutch language). A few months ago there was a question from a person(lady in England) concerning her dutch grandfathers who were silver/goldsmiths in Holland and I good find out a lot of information for her untill the period of the 17th century. I'm always interested in history and background information also in combination with silver items, marks etc.
So many thanks for your reaction and time spending solving my question.
Greeting Silverhunter.(André)Neighbour.
