That's why we say:

SEASON'S GREETINGS

And since we all use the same calendar:

HAPPY NEW YEAR

And if you didn't already know this, here is a seasonal Mythbuster's factoid: Is this why Santa says HO! HO! HO! ?

Both sexes of Reindeer have antlers -- the males shed their antlers in winter, but the females retain them until giving birth in the Spring, so Santa's sled is really being pulled by . . . You guessed it! And that's the truth.

Just the facts, Ma'am.

Ho! Ho! ho! biggrin

Except for those of us who don't -- looking at Scott's list of countries, that could be quite a good number.

Bah! Humbug!

Don't forget that those aren't the only ones, either - since the world didn't end today, it starts a new cycle on the Mayan calendar.

It is like the English language today - nearly universal - second language/second calendar. Maybe that is why B.C. is now BCE. We've all gotta communicate.

I'm taking credit for that -- up until late last night sacrificing the better part of a 20 year old (and didn't use one of June's spoons, either).

Kinda wishing the world would end now. . .

To June, Scott, and all involved in running this wonderful site - a heartfelt thanks. It really is a community of its own. And to all who are part of it in some way or other, my very best wishes for the season, and for a bright, healthy and peaceful New Year. And WEV - your sacrifice went not unappreciated...
