Hi all,

Thank you for accepting me in your group. My wife and I are avid collectors from Australia. We collect a wide range of many, silver being our passion. We collect silver in all shapes and forms, coins, tea sets, coffee sets, dressing sets, cups, spoons etc, as long as its silver. Sterling preferred!

On the odd occasion we have picked a piece (without an eye glass) that has been not as stated.

Yesterday we picked a lovely set, decanter measuring about 20.32cm (8") Glass with silver collar (has one very small stamp unable to read) comes with six very small thimble style cups 4cm high (1.57") which sits on a tray 21.59cm x 16.51cm(8.5 x 6.5"). The tray and cups have two marks on them, one being a stamp (made in France) in a rectangle, the second stamp looks like a sphinx / lion laying down facing the Made in France stamp. It is situated to the right of the made in France stamp. Inside the the tiny cups appears to be gold gilded.

Not that knowledgeable with Silver from France, any help greatly appreciated. We have tried to photograph the hallmarks without any great success.
