Good evening everyone,

maybe someone can help me with further identification and dating of this spoon. I guess it's the Berlin bear, but so eaten that the letter of the assay master is not to be recognised. And what does the large "B" stand for? and the letters in the right, probably the maker, could read W.L. but there appears to be a strange slash in front of the "W".
Looking forward to hear the specialist opinion.

Nickleby, regarding your tablespoon, it is indeed from Berlin made between 1818 - pre 1886. The "B" mark is that of the secondary assayer, this second assayer mark was added in 1818, the German hallmarking system was overhauled in 1886. Unfortunately, I don't have the books to help with maker/assayer identification but that information would help narrow the circa date.
