[26-2633]

I just acquired this 10" sterling tray with gadrooned border weighing in at 418 grams. Overall, it's in very good condition.

Does anyone recognize the mark, I have to admit it has me stymied.

Henry Birks & sons
Quebec, Canada
1930s - 1960s
I did find several Henry Birks hallmarks with his name, but for some reason, this lion, sterling, lion, was found to be also associated with Birks. I have no explanation. But I did not find the hallmark anywhere else.
Sure would never want to be misleading.
Thanks,
David

By its style it does not seem to have much age to it. My guess is that it is most likely 1960s production.

Kimo, I'm with you on this one, I think it's second half of the 20th C. I don't think it's Birks sterling as it isn't stamped with the Birks name and I don't recall this combination of marks for Birks. With that said, I have been proven wrong in the past.

I found several birks hallmarks with his name, but also found this hallmsrk associated with Birks. I have no explanation why it was, other than maybe this reference knew something I didn't.
And I never found the lion, sterling, lion hallmark anywhere else.
I would never intentionally mislead anyone, I was just so excited I even found the hallmark!
Blessings to all!
David
