Need help to identify the flower mark in this set of otherwise standard Birmingham marks. All other marks are clearly identified in www.926-1000.com
and other silver forums as well.

(you didn't copy the entire ubb code line...we have corrected this

There is nothing wrong on our end.

Only Admin/Moderators can delete.

User may edit and the edit works since we have edited your first post.

Without our also having your issues or you providing detailed "step by step" and error messages ..... then we can only say the issue must be at your end.

The flower is Banks's personal mark, frequently seen on his silver.

Thank you. I knew the JMB mark identification, but had not found anything showing the flower mark in relationship to his mark. Can you tell me where you found this information so that I can increase my range of sources of information? Again, many thanks for this help. John

The 'Forget-Me-Not' flower mark of John Millward Banks:

J. Millward Banks & Co. - Birmingham - 1917

John Millward Banks registered marks at the London, Birmingham and Chester assay offices. His company's works were at 6 & 7, Northampton Street, Birmingham and their London showrooms situated at 12, 14, Beak Street, Regent Street.

John Millward Banks established his business in 1863, the company was styled J. Millward Banks & Co. as from c.1900. He died on the 1st February 1911, and the business was continued by his son, Francis M. Banks until 1925/6 when the firm was liquidated.

The firm's London agent was noted in 1892 as being T J Banks, the brother of John Millward Banks.

Another example of the additional mark, this one accompanied by Chester marks of 1901:

Thank you again. I use www.925-1000 lots but had not discovered the additional-British-marks section. Very helpful. It's nice to feel like all the ducks are in a row now. And now I have a new source for information. Thanks, John
