Author | Topic: Is this an Edinburgh brooch? |
Beege Posts: 21 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good evening all. My friend sent me a picture of her brooch and asked if I can identify the hallmarks. The images below are not great, but the hallmarks can be seen. To me this looks like DJ, 925, ? and a Rampant Lion. I understand Edinburgh switched to a Rampant Lion in 1975 - is this correct? If so, can anyone 'make out' what the 3rd symbol is and/or do you recognised DJ? I've not been able to date or find the maker. Thank you for any help you can offer. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hallo Scott. It is simply that we were talking about my interest in silver (hence the long silver jug discussion I've been having on this forum), when she mentioned her brooch. Being a Scottish lady, she is hoping it is a piece of Scottish jewellery; so I offered to try and help with my limited knowledge. I'm pretty sure her interest in the world of hallmarks only extends to curiosity in her jewellery. IP: Logged |
