Hello everyone! My name is Matt I have been collecting silver since age 10. In college I worked at a Reed & Barton factory store and had my heart shattered when I realized they didn't really make anything at their factory anymore (this was several years before they went bankrupt). Most of the work was outsourced and the finishing on the sterling was nothing like the antique pieces I owned . That only deepend my desire to learn more about modern silversmiths and craftsmen. Always been fascinated with the making of silver and the workmanship. When I am not spending time with my family or at work I am usually tinkering in my workshop on silver and pewter trying out my hand at age old techniques. Looking forward to learning more on this forum and using this great tool as a resource in investigating antique silver pieces I stumble across! IP: Logged |
