Hello Everyone: Thank you for reading my first post as a new member of this forum! My husband and I are both collectors of a great many things, beginning when we were each about 11 years old. One of my favorite, and larger, collections is silver plate and sterling flatware and souvenir spoons. No, my pieces aren't rare or "worth anything," but I enjoy poking through antique and thrift shops, bringing discarded cutlery back to life with a little TLC, and admiring the beauty of the patterns. I also find myself, especially with the souvenir spoons, doing a bit of research and learning interesting facts from American and European history. I recently discovered this forum while researching the best practices for cleaning and storing my collection. I've learned a lot from reading your posts regarding preserving patina and have invested in new supplies that are gentler and safer for both the silver and human beings. I have an inquiring mind, so new questions keep presenting themselves. I hope to post some of my queries on this forum and also to solicit the members' help identifying some of the pattern names which have alluded me over the years. IP: Logged |
