I bought this spoon today at an antique show but I'm stumped by the hallmarks. I'm hoping someone can make some sense of them. I'm fairly confident it's Scandinavian in origin, (Norwegian/Danish) but with that said, silversmiths who immigrated to a new country might continue to produce in the styles they were familiar with. It's has two sets of pin prick initials and dated for 1799. It's in remarkably good condition with a full bowl. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

This fiddle Spoon has similar engraving and is from Norway, but I am not aware of who made your spoon.
I do think the engraving on your spoon is very attractive and may have been typical of other engravings in this area.

ahwt, thanks for the link, I didn't see that one. I thought there was a hallmarking system in Norway around the time this spoon was made, but these marks don't appear to conform. I'm wondering if perhaps its a Norwegian "provincial" spoon? Unfortunately my Scandinavian reference section is seriously lacking.
