Greetings and Salutations!

I’ve been interested in silver since I was a child (always had a fascination with demitasse spoons!), but I didn’t start collecting until my 20’s, and then it was mostly plate and to add a few serving pieces to my Mother’s sterling. Inheriting my great-great-Aunt’s sterling which was missing a teaspoon, really set me off on a completionist frenzy, and here I am!

I am interested in Gorham “La Scala” and Dominick & Haff “New King” 1898 in particular, but I have a few Towle “Princess” 1892 serving spoons and enough Whiting “Lily of the Valley” 1885 to serve bon-bons and stir at a tea party! :-)

As a result, I know most of D&H’s patterns on sight as well as most of the King/Queen patterns.

I’m also curious about American plate, as we have a ton of Oneida “Beethoven” between my Mother and me, and I inherited 4 place settings of Oneida Nobility “Caprice” (12 place settings and 3 granddaughters).

There’s also some Oneida Rogers “Lilac Time” and a bunch of random sales samples.

I’ve also collected Ruby Glass since I was in elementary school, and am currently on a carnival and “Candlewick” glass kick. I also have a “thing” for salt cellars of all kinds.

Nice to meet everyone, and I’m excited about learning more!

Lycoris,

I like your many new posts. I hope to find the time to properly respond to some.

You should know we have over 7,000 members but many are readers only and have never done a post. Others are only occasional visitors so it can take time for a meaningful response.

Not to worry, Scott! I've been on forums for a *very* long time (think alt.net), and asynchronous communication doesn't bother me at all. :-)
