October 23, 9:16 AM

Cambridge Silversmiths and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 13,000 pieces of Fiesta Masquerade and Home Olympic Flatware after plastic inserts on the utensils detached in the dishwasher, creating a choking hazard for children.

JC Penney, Federated (Macy's) stores, Bealls and Homer Laughlin sold the Fiesta Masquerade collection, which is silver-colored flatware with decorative inserts in red, orange, yellow, green and three different shades of blue. The 20-piece sets retailed for $70 and were sold from November 2008 through May 2009.

The Home Olympic flatware, which are charcoal with a black decorative insert, were sold for $30 for a 20-piece set at Target stores from August 2008 to August 2009.

The flatware was manufactured in China and consumers should stop using immediately.
