Edwin Field is listed in the 1844 Providence Directory as a jeweler at Fulton.

Frederick H Field is listed in the 1850 Providence Directory as a jeweler at 15 Fulton.

Edwin Field is listed in the 1850 U S Federal Census for Cranston, Rhode Island as a gold smith. His son Charles H is also listed as a gold smith.

Edwin Field is listed in the 1857 Providence, Directory with the occupation watch cases at 101 Broad. Charles H listed as an engine turner at 101 Broad. Frederick H is listed at 65 Bassett with the occupation jeweler.

Same entries in the 1858 Providence Directory for the three.

Frederick H Field is listed in the 1861 Providence Directory as an engine turner at 101 Broad.

Frederick H Field is listed in the 1862 Providence Directory as an engine turner. At this time Edwin has turned to the manufacture of hoop skirts.

Frederick H and Charles H Field are listed in the 1866 Providence Directory as engine turners. Charles is at 53 Friendship.

Frederick H Field is listed in the 1867 Providence Directory as an engine turner at 44 Page.

Frederick H Field is listed in the 1860, '70 & '80 U S Federal Census's for Providence, Rhode Island as an engine turner.
