I was given a beautiful silver bangle by my grandmother a while ago and I'd like to know who made the piece?

It was assayed in Birmingham in 1963 and the makers mark is the letters R and X, with each letter enclosed within a circle.

I also have a silver band ring engraved with a continuous pattern, which has the following makers mark - the letters SRC enclosed within a rectangle with rounded corners. The assay and date marks are too small and obscured to read so I cannot give a date.

I'd be really grateful for any information on who made these pieces, also can anyone recommend a good book on the subject of makers marks?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum, hope you will stay with us and learn along with me about the joys of silver collecting. It is more helpful if you will post a picture. There is instruction on how to here, just look up towards the top of the main page. I use photo bucket, after I have resized my pictures.
