Digger Posts: 1 Registered: Aug 2007	posted 08-09-2007 06:57 PM I am thinking of selling a silver commemorative spoon on ebay "Mappin & Webb silver spoon issued for the wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer. With original receipt." It cost my wife's late father £45 in 1985. She is worried it will go for very little and I am saying that eBay is the best way to really find out what it is worth. I suppose I really have a number of questions Very roughly, what is a spoon like that worth? Is eBay a good place to sell silver? You are more than welcome to discuss issues as they relate to silver, jewelry, gold but this is not the place to discuss commercial ventures. Advice, comments and discussion are given freely but questions of valuations and venues for selling are not allowed. Bottom line: My simple answer is to have a reserve on it, if you or your friend are concerned it will go for too little. This applies whether it's a private sale, auction or whatever.
