![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am looking to contact both serious silver collectors (tableware) and silver dealers, as well. This is for an article I am doing in a big Midwestern newspaper and I will only be asking for some quotes and some discussion answering frequently asked questions about the business and the passion of collecting/dealing. Please email me if you can help me. I haven't a clue how to use a forum-- never did it before and can't find my posting of yesterday-- where it went. Thanks. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hello Eahulick. Welcome to the forum. Everyone here is a silver collector ranging from relative novices all of the way to seriously advanced collectors who write the reference books others use. There are also some people who also happen to be dealers but that is not the reason why they come to this forum which is simply a place to for people interested in silver to talk about their common passion and interest and share their expertise with each other in a friendly way. I would imagine that you might get a better response if you were to provide a bit more information such as the name of the paper for which you are writing, whether you are a freelancer or if you are a staff reporter with the paper, what the gist of your story will be and how do you plan to use any information people may choose to offer, whether you will give such people an approval of any quotes you would like to include, a link to an article or two that you have written that shows an example of your work, or similar things to make people comfortable with talking with you. I hope your article works out well! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hello Back This will be an article in the a large Midwestern paper (circulation 400,300) in the Sunday Style section to run before the holidays. The topic is Silver (obviously) a bit of its history, the rise of interest in tableware sterling (mid to late 19th century?), its enduring allure, inherent value as a collector's item but its usefulness, too. I want to quote at least one willing collector via email or phone, learn how they got into it, why they're into it. Also a dealer (at least one) about the market for tableware, larger pieces vs. flatware. Maybe speak with someone who deals uniquely in flatware. I am a freelancer and whatever the person or people respond is fair for a quote. This was my idea for a story. Hope that is enough. Anyone out there want to speak up? Please copy your response in an email to me directly as I am unfamiliar with the ins and outs of a forum and given the information I'm looking for, it would be good to establish contact via email. ------------------ IP: Logged |
