[01-0300] Hi Folks, First let me say Thank you for All your Help! What I have is a Box I think it maybe Dutch? Though unsure if it is Sterling or what? Oval shape. The marks are SH in an Oval...a Stylized letter possibly B.....the mark N2 ...another one is a Passant Lion but facing Right with Small number 2 below the Lion ...there is also a Key Symbol Stamped on the Lion though it looks like it may have been stamped Separate? And on the Cover rim on the Front is a Womans profile wearing a Hat? The Scene is of a Tavern with a Floral decoration and a Windmill Scene! Thanks a Million IP: Logged |

Your box was made in the Netherlands' about 1886 and was marked for export. The export mark as found on your box is most often struck on items which have been exported to the Netherlands East Indies. The box assay marks indicate 833/1000 fine silver. The SH or HS is the makers mark. I have many possible makers in my lists but none of the marks match what is shown. On the head, if you look real close you might be able to make out a letter. The letter would indicate which assay office. IP: Logged |
