Hi all

I have a pair of silver serving spoons which I have not yet been able to place,they are hanoverian in style and they have a double headed eagle hallmark ( I know this is synonimus with Perth,but I am assured they are not Perth),The double headed eagle is in a shield,the top of of the shield has three points,the makers marks G.I.L are also in a similar shield,the G & I are above the L,

I would greatly appreciate any information any could give or just suggestions,It is possibly they are Perth,But i couldnt' find a maker to match the marks

Dear Mack,
Your spoons WON'T be Perth, most likely European, with just a city mark and a maker's mark.
The forum really need to see a picture (even a drawing will do!) in order to help further. - Please do post something as your spoons sound interesting!! wink

p/s do they have any engraving? - what does it look like and where does it occour on the spoons?; what shape are the bowls - oval, egg-shaped or pointed ??
