My son-in-law is from Denmark and these are pictures of a Danish spoon, of a pair of spoons, which my son-law and daughter received from his grandparents when they were married. The spoons were initially given to Henrik's grandparents on their wedding in 1936.

From Tardy I believe that the mark with three towers is a guarantee mark of .826 silver and while hard to see, the 03 within the wavy lines would indicate 1903 as the year the assay was made. The next mark has interlocking S's and is similar, but not quite the same as that shown on page 103 of Tardy. Would this be the assayer's mark or the makers mark? No other marks are on the spoons.

The next pictures show the attractive bright cut pattern on the front while the back has a midrib and the engraving of the two marriage dates. Also there is on the back room for the spoons to be engraved to another generation, but since our grandson just turned one that should be some time from now.

I am sorry for the somewhat out of focus pictures as I did not have a tripod with me.

Any information about these spoons would be appreciated.

Lovely spoons and a nice tradition! The other mark is actually an "SG" for Simon Groth who was the Danish Assayer from 1863-1904, which fits in with the 1903 three-tower mark.
