An 1878 Silver 84 Pointer I believe to be from Moscow;assayer "BC" (Possibly Viktor Savinkov) can't identify the maker..Cyrillic. Hope pictures are good.

Townmark: Moscow
Assaymaster: Viktor Sawinkov 1855 - 1888
Silversmith: Andrej Michailowitsch Postnikov (AP in Latin), merchant, founded 1868 a enterprise for silver-, gold- and bronce goods. In the year 1870 the firm had 63 employees and participated with big success in national and international exhibitions. 1877 Postnikov became Courtjeweler. The firm existed until 1917 (revolution!).
Hope that helps

Thank you once again, Sazikov. From what I learned from you in the past I see that I was able to identify the town and the assayer; the cyrillic escapes me still. You are a great resource and teacher.

Murray-
thank you for the compliment - but that is what the Silver Salon Forum is for in my opinion: to help others, who are really interested in the beauty of silver and the "mysteries" of marks. An anonym piece of silver begin to speak if you can understand what it has to say, when you know for what it was used, by whom it was made, where and when. Suddenly there is a whole fascinating story revealed. And if you dig a little into history you realise that you are very lucky to get this piece in spite of the many progroms, vandalism, stupidity, ideologies and ignorance surrounding it for over hundred years.
