I have tentatively identified this piece as German 800 silver, Bruckmann & Sohne, Heilbron, post 1888. Can anyone confirm or correct this id and help narrow the date? I had trouble getting a clear image of the hallmark, particularly the eagle in a circular crest. The other marks are clearly the crescent moon, crown and number 800.

Thanks,
Tom

Well, I can't find the pattern number or name, but it sure looks like one of Bruckmann's excellent Jugendstil/Art Nouveau patterns ca. 1900-1910.

Thanks Blackstone. Would you believe the seller listed it as coin silver?

Quite easily. Recently I came across an online auction listing that had me in hysterics: "Period Biedermeier Art Deco Teapot"

Huh?

Did Bruckmann also make plate. I recently saw a set marked "Bruckmann 90 18." No, I am not buying or selling it.

Thanks,
Tom

Being a new member, I am not able to answer the German spoon question in the continental silver forum, so I'm posting my reply here:
your spoon is indeed a Peter Bruckmann & Shne spoon, designed by Carl Zeller (model number 3051), after 1902. See, for other items of the same model and other splendid models, the book by B. Grotkamp-Schepers and R. Snger, Art Nouveau Knives, Forks and Spoons edited by Arnoldsche in 2000. A must for anyone with an interest in continental modern cutlery; the book shows many different models and makers with their marks! the exact date of fabrication of these spoons (or other art nouveau cutlery for that matter) is difficult to establish: the models were mostly in production for some decades, and as the German marks didn't change, it can be made from 1902 till the '20's! the style of engraved monograms are mostly (not always!) a clue to dating.
