Please: Need help identifying Deco flatware and Candelabrum set/ Makers marks. This is what I know: Numerous marks...MARQUES, Fro.Porto Lisboa, Eagle touchmark- eagle faces left, is standing, has 833below/left.The coffe/tea set has same eagle mark plus what looks like a vertical line with crossed lines diagonally near the top with a J to the left and a C to the right of it. It appears to be a minimalist windmill?? maybe not? Pieces are well crafted and are strong high-style deco. If you can help , please do. Thanks, Dale

The eagle facing left in an octagonal is Porto,Portugal, 833 is the silvercontent (833/1000).
This mark is in use since January 1st 1938 until today. The other marks must be the silversmith and/or dealer. We must have some fotos to tell you more.
Hope that helps

Many thanks for your response to my cry for help. The eagle is actually facing to his right/ our left, and is in a rectangle. My guess is that this is a generic quality mark? Have you any suggestions re. the J and C touchmark? The design of the mark appears less like a windmill the more that I look at it. There is a vertical line with two crossed lines at approx. a 45 degree angle near the top of the vertical lineme

Can you recommend a book that lists Portugese touchmarks?
Thanks Dale
