I have a set of 4 silver grape cluster with leaf napkin rings from my Grandmother's estate-look like real silver and tarnished like real silver but do not know. They are stamped 95%-Thailand. Anyone know if these are sterling silver or is the stamp the maker/manufacturer or may mean something else? I do not know if they use sterling or 925 for sterling mark in Thailand or if the 95% mark means silver content. also if anyone knows if these are real silver-how/what should I use to clean them? I would like to use them but is there a safe cleaner to use with something used around eats? Thank you all for being here. [This message has been edited by d123lucy (edited 02-18-2005).] IP: Logged |

The standard mark on Thai silver these days is 925 which stands for 92.5% pure silver. There is a lot of fakery on all kinds of items in Thailand so if it mattered to me whether it was pure silver I would want to have it tested. IP: Logged |
