Andy H Posts: 29 Registered: Aug 2006	posted 10-07-2006 08:13 AM [26-1223] Yet another buy from today, this cigarette case shows the mark for Moscow, with "CH" (SN?) as the maker. Can anybody tell me who this maker is. I did look in the Russian silver marks site, but couldn�t find it. Many thanks Andy IP: Logged
IJP Posts: 326 Registered: Oct 2004	posted 10-07-2006 09:02 PM It looks to me like the mark of Sergei Ivanovich Nazarov, the head of a silver manufactory in Moscow from 1880 to after 1908. The kokoshnik mark indicates assay in Moscow between 1908-1917. This information is taken from Gold and Silverwork of the 15th-20th Centuries by Postnikova-Loseva, et. al. There is a fair bit more printed in the entry on this maker, but my Russian is not good enough to decipher it without the aid of my dictionary, which I unfortunately do not have at my side. I am most certain that sazikov2000 will fill in the blanks for you. IP: Logged
