Hello this (maker's mark?) on a back cover of a Swiss pocket watch. It looks like L (an animal form?)F.

Is there anybody knowledgeable about this mark?

Many thanks,

Welcome to the forum. It would help if you could provide a close-up of the marks. Try taking a picture through a magnifying glass or scan in a drawing.

The number may be a stock number, suggesting the item could have been mass produced and is perhaps silver plate rather than silver. We need to examine the marks more closely.

Could the blurry mark on the left above be the Austrian Diana mark for 800 silver?

Is it possible that the letters are WMF and and the animal an Ostrich? If so, the mark may be that of Württembergische metallwarenfabrik used on their silver plate items.
