I have searched quite a big on Google, but can't find any info on the maker, or date of this Norwegian silver ladle. It is part of my grandmother's Norwegian silver items. Many of them I suspect she received as wedding gifts and she was married in 1916. This ladle I think dates to that time or earlier. The ladle is 12.5" long, the bowl is 3.75" wide by 1.5" deep and has a rolled edge. It is 830 silver content. The mark is S M, a square mark of some sort and then 830S. Under magnification, the square mark resembles that of J. Tostrup of Oslo, but with the impressed S M, that can't be it! Please see the photos below. Thank you!

Hi
That mark looks almost certain to be the Tostrup mark. The impressed letters may refer to the silversmith that made it,or designed it. I am positive of it being by Tostrup.

Thanks very much, Andy! It was confusing with the impressed letters and the mark -- thanks for confirming the maker. Wendy
