I have an incredible sterling picture frame that was my stepmothers. She had one of the largest collections of fine antiques I've ever seen and I have inherited quite a lot of them.

This frame is approx 8x10 total but only an opening for photo of 4x6. It is beautiful carved cherubs all around the front. I don't have access to a scanner right now but was hoping someone would recognize the name/signature. From what I can see with magnifying glass, it is marked on the bottom right in the front of frame as follows:

Sounds like your frame is from Florence, Italy, made by the Argenterie Raddi Renato. According to their publicity:

"The Company was established in 1925 and its trade mark FI 97 is, nowadays, the oldest in Florence. Since 1925 the Raddi family has been running the company with great competence producing completely hand made items, in sterling silver 925 ‰ especially appreciated for their craftsmanship and design. Through the many years of its activity the company was "gold medalist" for the Crafts twice in 1934 and 1972."
