Does anybody knows what age the mark "95/silver" and below that "BURMA" there also seems to be an upside down "v"?

Can anybody give me a clue to the date this type of marking was used and any other info?

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, the piece is a tea caddy (I think!) at least it seems to be in the shape of one. It is round and is all embossed in sort of figures and designs.

It was made by hand since it is not that symmetrical. Where I got it from they told me it was an antique but I know too little to be sure. The only way I thought to tell if it really is old is to check the stamps so if you have any idea around what time this sort of marking was or still is used it will be much help! I don't quite understand what you mean by "does it leak" I have not checked but I don't think it will.

thanks

Fidda,

I noticed your ISP is in Malta. I guess that means you are most likely located there as well.

I thought you might find the prior post of interest 1830 EC R ?? (Maltese silver)
