Hello to you all,

Short question from my side:

Can somebody tell me what kind of silver mark is used by Marocco silver pieces.

Is the mark stamped with five flowers?
Or does five flowers stand for another country?

I hope someone knows something about this,
thanks from my side!

Silverhunter.

According to Tardy, post-1925 Moroccan silver is marked with one of two versions of an ox head for large pieces, a ram's head for smaller, and what appears to be a turkey-vulture for imported pieces. There also are census marks for December 1925. Before that there were marks for sultanate assayers and usually the year in the Mohammedan calendar.

None shown in Tardy are five flowers. As always, photos would make it easier to attempt an identification....

Thank you for your quick reaction and explanation FWG, I'm helped with it. The reason why I asked this question, because they offer some kind of silver items and no photo's of silvermarks. Only explanation with definitions of silvermarks. So it's a gamble, if it is silver. Perhaps I can contact the owner for to send photo's of the marks that's perhaps a solution. But it is good to know the marks, so thanks for sharing the knowledge. If I've bought a (silver?)piece of Marocco I let you know.
Greetings Silverhunter.
