A friend of my bought years ago this Christofle toothpick holder. With any research for her I found the name Christofle and (I think unique) pattern. At the website which some information, the owner told that in about 30 years he only found a few of this pattern. Exact time indication of production was not able to give, only the fact it was made in the 19th century. I hope someone recognize this pattern and can give the information which exact period this one could be made.

Photo is not original but is a look like of the pattern.

Last question did Christofle only made a few of these one's, is it unique?

I hope someone can give his/here opinion about this, thanks a lot Silverhunter.

The picture is so small I can't really form an opinion. Could you enlarge it to by 400? Thanks.

Hi!
I've seen several of these being offered for sale on the internet. Some call what is holding the ring a Foo Dog.
I believe it is silver over bronze.

Enjoy the Day!

Thanks Dale but it isn't necesarry to enlarge it, I think the kind of dog becomes more uggly than it is already showed at this size. But the owner didn't knew what it was or made by ?, it's also used as table bell.

Thanks Jersey you're right it's silver over bronze there is also a figured bear with a umbrella perhaps also made in that period.
The price with 3 figures stood at that website so not very cheap.
But that's not interesting for to know!

Only the pattern should be made in the 19th century and that will be the unanswered question at this side and for the owner but we stay patienced or check it out near Christofle by e-mail.
