This is driving me nuts! In going through this box of silver I just found another piece that seems to be of Norwegian origin, and the mark on it is also the 830 backwards crescent moon S. On my last post, I asked about a piece that had this same mark with additional markings. Here is the question. I know that the Th Marthinsen mark is 830S Backwards Crescent Moon. Did they ever reverse the Moon and the S or is it always in that same order? If they didn't reverse it then does anyone know who uses 830 / Moon Mark / S ? I am determined to learn more about the Norwegian makers, and I can't bear to put out the $125 for the only book I've found that covers these marks in detail. Maybe I will soon have to bite the bullet and dig deep into my piggy bank to buy that book? Any other suggestions on a less expensive reference book that covers Norway in detail?

Short reaction from this side, there are two symbols(ore more?)that's made as mark for Th.Marthinsen like I found somewhere.

The first is a kind of goblet and the second is the name printed into the spoon.

If it's possible from your side please send a photo. The other topic from your side concern a pattern named Flat Rose, it's made for a long period in Norway and they are still producing this pattern. But there are a lot of different flat rose patterns, little differences in flowers. What concern the crescent moon I think it can be a rand which is rested of the outside printing (830 S or) I hope you understand what I try to explain? My question about Norwegian silver: Is there a development in positif interest for Norwegian Silver in the USA because in Holland I can't find a lot of flatware for to buy?

I hope you can use this information and success with the hobby!
