Hello. It's me again. The marks on the pieces cannot be clearly made out, but I have been told this: That they were made by George W. Adams of London, England, and that the hallmarks include the artist's initials, Lion of London, the Silver mark leopard, the Queen Victoria effigey and two year marks, 1845/6 & 1846/7. Is anybody able to tell me if these are sterling? Thanks

It certainly sounds like English sterling. The marks are what you would expect to find.

I hope this helps!

Dovin...
I've got George Adams as an important mid 19th century spoon manufacturer. The marks should read as Leopards Head.... Date Letter of K & L...... Lion Passant and then a left facing female duty mark. With this you can be assured of .925 sterling Silver. Hpe that helps.

Has something changed since the last time you asked about these marks? They are, as before, indicative of fine English sterling by a well-known maker.
