This card case has an unusual set of marks.

It gives the impression of being of British colonial manufacture - but from where?
Any clues - oh, learned ones?

SILVER VICTORIAN CARD CASE, SHIP IN HARBOR

Very nice Victorian silver calling card carrying case. The case is hallmarked on inside of rim with lion, profile of a woman and third hallmark has the initials " MW&H". The case has elegant stripped design motif with a center engraved scene of a masted ship in a village harbor. The back has a floral center design with the initials "L. F.J."? The case meas. approx. 2 1/4" by 3 1/2" by 1/4" wide. Hinge is good and tight and case was found with 5 calling cards inside (Mrs. Paul Austin Wolfe).
