Hello everyone

Great forum - there's a lot of silver knowledge here that I hope to tap to help me ID the makers of the unidentified parts of my silver collection;

1/ Art Nouveau tea spoon; made 1906 in Sheffield. Maker's mark is WG&S. Maker's shield shape is pseudo "Batman" style - Three point along the top, one point along the bottom. Looks like a bat in all honesty (which is highly scientific I know) wink

2/ Sheffield Coronation spoon for Edward VIII, made in 1936. However, due to Edward's desire to live with American divorcee Mrs. Wallis Simpson, he issued a Notice Of Abdication in 1936, ruling himself out from occupying the throne. Edward was never crowned; his reign lasted 325 days. His brother Albert became King, using his last name George. The maker's mark is EL. Maker's shield is standard oval.

3/ 1852 Fiddleback Teaspoon, London made, maker's mark was CW. I suspect Chas Wright but am not sure. Maker's shield shape is the infinity (sideways 8) shape.

4/ Hipflask; Glass with Silver band around the bottom part. Dated 1882 (duty mark present). London piece. Mark is in the shape of a three leaf clover. Top left letter is e. Top right letter is c. Bottom middle letter is either f or p. All letters have serifs.

Hope I can get some answers!

I will be placing some photos of drawings of the marks up in a few days, but haven't the time at the moment.

Cheers

Waylander
