I believe that the mark is more likely to be HEB over FEB (in a shield) and is normally seen on Chester-assayed silver around 1910 to 1930. I have seen it attributed to "Barker Bros", but have no evidence to confirm it. Phil IP: Logged |

Did my earlier replies regarding Barker Brothers reach you? In case not here is a summary: HEB FEB is Herbert Edward Barker Frank Ernest Barker The firm started in earlt c.19th but specialised in electro-plate until adding silver in 1890 when the duty (tax) was taken off silver in Britain. They were big Birmingham manufacturers witha a retail shop in High Holborn in London. They saent pieces to London, Birmingham and Chester to be marked and made lots of flatware. They still (??) exist as Barker Ellis & Co. IP: Logged |
