Can anyone help me please?

I have a silver jelly spoon which was made in London 1736-1756, but I can't identify the makers mark.

It bears the initials WR (or possibly WP) the initials also bear a crown mark above them.

I'm a complete novice and would love to find out more, including what the crown means.

Many thanks

There is no mark such as you describe listed in Grimwade's London Goldsmiths.

A photograph of sll the marks is nearly always necessary for identification, especially when there is uncertainty about reading it correctly. If you cannot take a photograph, then a careful drawing might suffice.

The dating of 1736 - 1756 London is also subject to query. If a date letter is present given, it would embrace only two consecutive years, not a range of twenty years . Or if an "A" for 1736 or 1756 then these are normally easy to tell apart.
If no date letter present and you are going by the punch shape of the London Lion(the "cottage loaf" or "side indented Lion") then the date is 1739 - 1756. Two or three indents at the bottom give further dating although these are often hard to make out and I personally am not convinced on their accuracy !
A jelly spoon ?
