Hi there,

Bought this spoon last night, another unascribed Scottish piece for my collection.

Can anyone shed any light?

Hi,

I have emailed Richard Turner who wrote the Directory on Scottish Provincial Marks, but he isn't certain of its origin. He came across a set of spoons with the same marks. I don't think you get Welsh Silver? I think it is likely to be Scottish or Brit Colonial due to the pattern and shape.

Hi Scotia, sorry my posting abilities are pretty lame and my mark id's are for the most part guesses... I was joking ( thought the happy face w/ a wink showed that?) because of the Prince of Wales feathers, if that is what they are?

My real guess is Anglo-Indian!

Hi,

It's sort of a cross between a fleur-de-lis and the Prince of Wales Feathers. Sorry, never noticed the smilie! This piece is definitely Sterling and not plate.
