I have an English silver jug chineserie style, hallmarked for London 1848. A very fine piece with maker mark JA over G? (see image). I cannot find nothing of similar. Is there anyone that can help me?
Thank you

The makers are Joseph & George Angell. The date is actually 1846/1847.

Thank you phil,
I cannot find the reference of this mark on the old and new jackson halmark edictions. Can you tell me in which publication is reported this mark?

One referennce is Anthony Culme's Directory of Gold & Silversmiths Jewellers & Allied Trades 1838-1914, which is intended to pick up where Grimwade's London Goldsmiths 1697-1837leaves off (This mark was entered in 1844). These works are more comprehensive than Jackson, which is not intended to include marks for all registered goldsmiths.
