JenC,

Welcome to the forum. The marks on the salt shakers are those for Germany post 1888 (crown and crescent moon). The silver content is 800/1000 or 80%. I cannot id the maker.

The second piece was made in London in 1828.
The lion passant (walking) is the mark for sterling silver (92.5%), the leopard's head is the town mark for London, and the "n" is the date letter. The head is a duty mark representing King George IV. Again, I can't id. the maker.

Good luck,
Tom

I think the mark is "E E" with a distinctive serif to the bottom left of the second E. I beleive this is attributed to the second Edward Edwards.

JenC,

I hope Scott is mistaken, but if he is not, then I feel taken advantage of. The forum is for people who collect silver and enjoy learning about it. I am just an amature, but several members are professional curators, appraisers, etc. Using information that they generously provide for personnel gain is a form of stealng. It is raher like going to a store to by an expensive stereo, picking the salesperson's brain for an hour to get valuable informaion and then ordering the product online!

But as I say, I hope we are mistaken. Have a nice holiday,

Tom
