Can anyone help please?
I have my eye on a silver king’s pattern ladle which indicates a London date of 1810 and yet the leopard's head is uncrowned.
Is this possible as I thought the crown didn't disappear in 1822?
Many thanks in advance

The ladle will be 1830 - an easy mistake to make. What is the maker's mark?

Hi,
Thanks for reply. The maker is I think A.B.S.
There's also a king's head but wonder if it's George1V or William 1V.
Sorry cannot provide picture.

Maker is:
A.B.Savory (Adey Ballamy Savory to his friends!) - he didn't register his maker's mark until 1826 - so q.e.d. - ABS made really good spoons etc. The firm bcomes
ABS & Sons and the mark changes in 1833 when he is joined in business by his sons Joshua & Albert Savory.

In 1830 you will still have the head of King George IV.
