Hi,

My name is Timothy Vorster, I am 11 years old and live in Muizenberg in Cape Town South Africa. I found an old small silver teaspoon at an old dump site. I have had a professional person restore it for me and now I am trying to find out its history. It is approximately 10.5cm in length and the scoop section is small but quite deep. It has a small pattern on the handle at the top pointed end. Its registration number is: Rd No 551223.

If you could let me know where I can find more information I will be most grateful.I am trying to to establish the origin and date of manufacture.

Any details regarding how I can find this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you

Kind regards

Timothy Vorster

Hello Timothy,

Is there any chance you could post (or send me) a photo of the spoon and a closeup of the marks?

  • 1909 - registry numbers start with 535170 and end with 551999

So your English spoon dates from 1909.
