Second, is another pin and earring set, which were the most famous pieces Trifari ever made. The pin was introduced in 1944 and was in production for several years, rare for any costume jewelry maker to do. The colors of my set are unusual as most often they have moonstone or sapphire, emerald, or ruby as the large cabochons. In addition to the larger pin, which mine is, there was also a smaller version. The Des. Patent number is 137,542, for the larger pin, and 137,542 “5" for the smaller one. The earrings were also patented, but at a later date, July 25, 1945 (Des. 143,989). The patent numbers are stamped all 3 pieces shown.
