 International Silver Symposium Beyond the Makers Mark: Paul de Lamerie Silver in the Cahn Collection 500 Harris Street Sydney, Australia April 19, 2008 This symposium, hosted by the Powerhouse Museum, will be in conjunction with the opening of the Beyond the Makers Mark: Paul de Lamerie Silver in the Cahn Collection. This event will focus on the world of de Lamerie as one of England's greatest silversmiths of the 18th century. Representatives from the Huguenot Society of Australia, London's Victoria and Albert Museum as well as other distinguished guest speakers will outline and provide insight into England's high society at the height of the 18th century. A special highlight to this event will be session hosted by Paul Cahn including the handling and discussion of examples of de Lamerie's work. Early registration is recommended. Unfortunately, I am unable to locate anything 'silver' in Hawaii. But I am sure that you will enjoy yourself regardless. What little information I was able to gather looks like there might be a few independent silversmiths (making jewelry mostly). IP: Logged |
