My mother has had 2 of her lovely candlesticks(3 candle holders each) and I have been trying to find out more about the lady behind the metal works. I am happy to see some of her works here and the resulting dialogue. Truthfully the following thread is the only one that I have looked at here. Charla Ilgner, jeweler, silversmith & art teacher? Yesterday was terribly frustrating as I had finally gotten signed up here and then the server issues.... but happy to see it is all working today. Have a wonderful day. IP: Logged

I am a newbie and so cannot post any pictures. I am only 'allowed' to post where ya'll say I can post until you figure out I am "acceptable". That is the impression I get by all these rules. The final comment made in the Welcome says, "We hope that you will take a few moments to consider the above and as it will enure (should be ensure) your membership in our community will be a rich and rewarding one." How is jumping through a bunch of hoops rich and rewarding? Feels like a prison camp. I had the desire to share with you about items I have and find out more about the artist who rendered these items. But alas I have been shackled so it will not happen. Just sayin' IP: Logged

There are over 58,000 posts & 11,000 threads, Some new members never take the time to thoroughly read and follow the Guidelines and therefore remain in the New Member Forums. Even so, their participation is welcomed and rewarding for them and for the rest of the SSF membership. For those of us who have taken the time to become familiar with and to abide by the Guidelines our Silver Salon Forums can be fun & resourceful. I am a newbie and so cannot post any pictures. Not true. You have photos that you have emailed. If you can email photos, you can post photos. But alas I have been shackled.... Its unfortunate you feel this way. But lets be clear, the rest of us must and do abide by the Guidelines, so any shackling of you is something you’ve done to yourself. All of us that follow the Guidelines are participating on a even playing field. Please reconsider your self imposed restraints. IP: Logged

I am happy you have decided to stay - we really do welcome everyone and have very few rules that have only been developed to keep the forum fun and a place of learning and sharing for everyone. As our Forum hosts Scott and June have mentioned there are a very large number of people who have come to the forum and while most everyone has been wonderful and contributed this is the internet and there are a few people who come here just to troll or to take advantage of the member's generous sharing to conduct business research to sell their things for their personal profit. My mother is clearing out her things and I am tasked with 'sharing' those things with others in order to aid her financially.
