Hi Jon.

Welcome to the forum, we are happy to have you with us.

I've noticed that you have not been following the forum guidelines and I would like to encourage you to do so since we are just a small group of people who like to talk about silver.

We are not an antique identification or appraisal service. Saying thanks when someone helps you is a great first step, but there are a couple of other bits of protocol we always ask people to follow as well.

These are laid out in the Forum's Guidelines that you read and agreed to when you signed up. Essentially, these additional bits are:

    1) since you are new to the forum it is good form to take a few moments a tell us a little bit about your interest in silver in general;

    2) when you ask about a particular object, please tell us a little bit about why you are interested in that particular spoon or pot or candlestick or whatever about which you would like to ask for help; and

    3) whenever you ask about some item of silver, you need to include clear photos of the overall object and clear closeup photos of the markings. The photos need to be in keeping with the forum rules which you can learn by clicking on the link on every page that says How to post photos".

    The importance of photos is two-fold -

    first there are so many markings that are similar anything you are told by someone who can not see the actual markings will be only a "Maybe" identification that is not going to be very satisfying;

    and second - this is a website where people who appreciate silver would like to see and learn more about silver and this is not possible if photos are not included. By sharing such photos you would be giving to all of the people here on the site.

Photos of marks need to close up and large enough to clearly see the mark (not exceeding 640 pixels wide at 72 dpi).

Also please explain in more detail why you are asking about this silver. What is driving your interest in silver. As Kimo stated " We are not an antique identification or appraisal service.". Please don't misunderstand but there is something about you posts that remains unclear. Until you are clear that the reasons behind your inquiries doesn't have an underlying business purpose then many will not respond or continue to reply.

Hello

I am confused as for the statement that I am not following the forum guideline, I would really be appreciated if some one explain the which guideline i am not following so I can correct myself, I read the guidelines twice and i still don't see the mistake.

Sincerely,
Varouge
