A few weeks back I got some silver jewelry. If memeory serves me right it was marked J.Jensen. Did Georg have a son who is a silversmith/jewelry maker? Recearched it when I bought it and seems like that was what was found, but I cannot pull up anything now.

Perhaps you are thinking of Jorgen Jensen who was Georg's second son and who worked with Georg most of his silversmithing career but who had his own workshop for a short while in the 1920s and 1930s?

Georg did have a son Jorgen who worked in the factory, but in what capacity, I am unsure. I don't think he was a designer.

There was another Dane named Jorgen Jensen who made Modernist style pewter jewelry in the 60s/70s or so. This Jorgen Jensen is not related to Georg and has nothing to do with the GJ company. Jorgen's pewter jewelry is fairly common. Beware, as it is often mislabeled as Georg Jensen by unknowing or unscrupulous dealers. It is not as valuable as Georg Jensen jewelry.

Some added information about the Georg Jensen family's silversmithing tradition: G. Jensen had a son-in-law named Carl Poul Petersen who had an outstanding career as a silversmith and designer in Canada.

Georg actually had 6 children. Number 6 was named Soren Georg Jensen. Soren worked with his father a while as a silversmith, but he was better known for his work as a sculptor.

Have any of gone to the 2 exhibitions honoring Georg Jensen 100th annivesary in Denmark? They are being offered by the National Museum of Art in Copenhagen and the Oregaard Museum in Hellerup until August 15th. Some of the pictures from it were quite impressive. One exhibition featured private items from his family and the other public owned items.
