This is a large (8 1/2") shaker with an impressive array of marks. Whoever made this seems to have gone punch happy.

The question is, do any of these marks mean anything?

No, not a thing. They’re pseudo-marks used by Gebrüder Dingeldein of Hanau, Germany.
See this thread (Unknown marks) and this thread (Help Please) for more information.

Some of the original punches for these pseudo-marks are in the Historic New Orleans Collection among the tools and dies of Karl Dingeldein. Sometime back, a local practicing silversmith (and quite a good one, too) was permitted to make sample strikes of them, and recently he graciously allowed me to photograph them for my ongoing study of Hanau pseudo-marks.

Your marks are typical what is known as Hanau Pseudomarks. It is silver all right but marks are copies of old marks. Look like from right to left

Lion Bamberg
Bull Bourges
The ship a Swedish town mark

I cannot see the last 3 - but when we see marks like that = Hanau.

A real nice thing that I would like to have. So congratulations with it.

blakstone, Hose_dk
Thank you for the information.
This piece screams Hanau, but I had never seen this many marks at once.
blakstone, are you going to publish your study?

Interesting, the ship and the second mark are listed in W. Scheffler:Goldschmiede Hessens as No. 491 and 498 (page 532)listed for Neresheimer, the other three marks are probably No. 532 533 534 listed for Dingeldein.531 is a ship stamp, but I think the shown one is closer to the Neresheimer stamp. How did Dingeldein get Neresheimer stamps and how did these stamps get to America ? Besides Scheffler there is a very informative thesis about Hanau silver Bruno Wilhelm Thiele:Tafel-und Schausilber des Historismus aus Hanau, Tübingen 1992. Even though a new and enlarged catalogue of Hanau marks would be desirable, silver collectors are now more aware of Hanau production,(see also my 2 part article in Silver Magazine) the profusion of marks (not really seen on authentic pieces) and mix of various styles on the same piece will make the savvy collector suspicious.

Scheffler’s pencil rubbing technique makes judging details very difficult. The six marks pictured here are all listed in Scheffler as either those of Karl Kurz (Scheffler Hanau maker #464) or his successor, Gebr. Dingeldein (Scheffler Hanau maker #469). They are, left to right:

Scheffler mark 442, Karl Kurz
Scheffler mark 441, Karl Kurz
Scheffler mark 534, Gebr. Dingeldein
Scheffler mark 531, Gebr. Dingeldein
Scheffler mark 532, Gebr. Dingeldein
Scheffler mark 440, Karl Kurz

The connection between these two companies – and how some of their punches wound up in New Orleans – is explained in this thread (Please Help).
