When I had signed up in this forum about 3 years ago, I hoped that there would be posted pictures and questions about old German hallmarks and maker's mark.

The yield has been very meager.

My most important discoveries in the forum were the old articles of blakstone about Swiss silversmith and 2 interesting questions.

Here is a sugar tongs from Graudenz Sugar Tongs German or French?

Here's a cup of Lindau request for help on 18th c German beaker

I hope that in the future more hallmarks from Germany will be posted in this forum. It can be very helpful for my work (to make a reference book of all Germans goldsmiths before 1888).

See my post ( Hanau marks?) in continental silver regarding a vase which never got any responses about the marks, which I believe are ca. 1880 Hanau. They're not that clear tho.

hanau pseudomarks are not interesting for me.

I try to find interesting old German hallmarks.
